Published on Jan 17, 2020

This year the Polk County Youth Fair will be held from January 25-31, and volunteer roles are available the week before and the week of the event. The Family and Consumer Sciences division is looking for volunteers to assist with exhibit check-ins, judging, and various activities during the days of the fair.

On Friday, January 24, from 2:30-7:00 p.m., volunteers assist with check-in of food items including cakes, breads, and cookies. On Saturday, January 25, from 9:00 a.m. until completion, the perishable items are judged, and exhibits are wrapped and displayed.

Daily from Sunday, January 26 to Friday, January 31, the Family and Consumer Sciences exhibits are open to the public and volunteers are needed to assist visitors and assist with the cake donations area for the Polk County Youth Fair student scholarship.

All activities are at the W.H. Stuart Conference Center, 1710 U.S. Highway 17 South in Bartow. If you are able to contribute any amount of time to these efforts, please contact Nicole Walker, Extension Service Division, at 863-519-1045, or naw@ufl.edu.
