Polk County Youth Fair Needs Volunteers

This year the Polk County Youth Fair will be held from January 26- February 1, 2019. This fair highlights Polk County students involved in 4-H, FFA and FCCLA. The Division for Family and Consumer Sciences' related activities will begin receiving and judging entries on January 22, 2019. If you have the time and would be interested in volunteering with FACS committee, please review the information.

Below is a list of dates and times volunteers are needed: 

Tuesday, January 22, 2019 - 2:30 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.
Non-perishable Exhibits Check-in (sewing projects, crafts, hand-made goods, floral arrangements, gift baskets)
Runners (moving items to tables), write Judges' sheets, work the check-in table

Wednesday, January 23, 2019 - 9:00 a.m. – finished
Judging Non-perishable Exhibits (sewing projects, crafts, hand-made goods, floral arrangements, gift baskets)

Friday, January 25, 2019 – 2:30 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.
Perishable check-in (food items: cakes, cookies, breads)
Runners (moving items to tables), write Judges' sheets, work the check-in table

Saturday, January 26, 2019 – 9:00 a.m. - finished
Judge perishable items (food items: cakes, cookies, breads)
Help wrap and display perishable items

Week of the Fair Volunteers - Jan. 27- Feb. 2, 2019
8 a.m. – 7 p.m. Daily (Sunday only 12 p.m. – 6 p.m.
Cake servers for the donation cakes, available to all who visit the Stuart Center, this will include cutting cakes and keeping the kitchen area clean and organized.
